Two identical setups not acting the same. - carpinc - 11-20-2020

Hi everyone!

I am setting up 2 swings and although both swings have the exact same setup, I am getting different results. In the attached image, the swing on the left is correct. Notice the bindings from the ropes to the Seat's particle in the middle. Also notice how straight the bindings of the ropes are.

So my question is, why is it two setups that are exactly the same can give different results? Or, did I get lucky with the seat binding on the left and it's not supposed to work? (It's exactly the way I need it, suggestions on other ways to do it are welcome).

Can you post the max file?

File is to large to upload, here is a link to the file on one-drive.

Let me know if you have trouble.

Hi, I just noticed your post on here.
I was wondering if you resolved this?
Or if you know of any good examples of similar (tutorials----or max files examples----I couldn't download your autodesk link as I'm not registered there.)
involving....rope string etc hanging solid of soft objects from them.

Like with the seat in your setup.

I'm interested in hanging things from wires and the objects being able to respond to forces like wind etc.

Thanks

Pat
