Pinanta being hit?
#1
Hey Guys!
I'm trying to do a simulation where a pinanta is hit by a stick and that part of the body breaks off. I've done this using cloth but the whole body deforms and reacts too much like cloth...
Does anyone have a suggestion how to do this some what realistically where the object is deformed and where the paper attached to the body flies off when hit?

Any help in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks :-D

The easiest way would be to create your cloth setup as normal, then set cloth strength to 0 and add PhysX binds to everything to replace the cloth binds. The binds can then be stiffened, set to deform, etc, and the cloth mesh itself will still tear based on the Cloth Bind tearing settings.

There's a sample scene showing you have to setup a cloth/PhysX 2-way connection (some PhysX objects drop onto a cloth)...you can use the same principles from that, just treat the cloth more like a rigidbody by increasing the bind strength.
