Object with Skin Modifier can not be added as PhysX collision Mesh

I am running into a problem where I can not add a collision mesh to my PhysX Collision node.

If I CUT the skin modifier off the mesh I can add it.  Then I paste the skin modifier back on and it works as a collision mesh.

Any reason why?

Are you sure there's not a circular dependency in your setup somewhere?
