temporal smoothing not doing anything
#1
I'm a bit confused about how temporal smoothing is supposed to work. I put the node in to a flow, select the frame range i want smoothed and apply, it does it's calculation but the result doesn't look any different than the original.

Is it maybe supposed to be attached to the export particles event rather than the main particle event?

Can you post your flow and/or file?

Sure thing, it's actually an example scene by Chris Ferriola:

There's a weird jitter after around frame 245 that i was trying to fix.

Ah I see...you're using a Particle Bind Solver (Particle Physics and Particle Bind) setup.

Please read the docs as the solution for a situation like this is already explained:

oh... i see. Well I was planning to use a reference flow any way. Thanks!

One thing to note: in the next build, I've changed things so you don't necessarily need to use a reference flow. Temporal Smooth will evaluate at the end of the time step and automatically de-activate cloth/PhysX particles when necessary Smile

Great! Looking forward to the new build.
Thanks for all your hard work!
