Wrong smoothing groups with Birth Objects - BeyondReality.de - 12-05-2019 There is an issue with smoothing groups when using Birth Objects. See images below. Only Auto Smooth will work, but that will produce other issues. I use Vray Instances. Any ideas? RE: Wrong smoothing groups with Birth Objects - tyFlow - 12-05-2019 Which version of tyFlow are you using? Also please provide the file. I'm using v0.16061 with Max 2020 and Vray Next. File is attached. RE: Wrong smoothing groups with Birth Objects - tyFlow - 12-11-2019 It seems like a normals issue, not a smoothing group issue. The mesh appears to have explicit normals set, which are not supported by tyFlow...thus, overriding the smoothing group of 1 set on all the front trim. Since tyFlow doesn't support the explicit normals, the front trim sides/face are all being smoothed in the same group, thus you see the rounded appearance. RE: Wrong smoothing groups with Birth Objects - BeyondReality.de - 12-11-2019 Ah, I see. Thanks. For now I had to look for a workaround. Any plans to support explicit normals in the future? |
