plastic deformation - super gnu - 04-07-2019 HI.. Ive checked out the file provided, which uses voronoi fracture, physx and particle skinning to give a reasonable plastic deformation effect. however im wondering if there is any possibility that these kind of effects could be added to the cloth binding/particle physics operator? it would make the whole process a lot more streamlined, and allow a whole range of pliable materials to be simulated with the same system. (it would also mean i could use my existing test scene for a client who is asking for a proposed cloth sim to be "made out of thin aluminium" instead of starting from scratch. ) ![]() RE: plastic deformation - tyFlow - 04-07-2019 The binding solver I'm using right now isn't very good at simulating hard materials. So PhysX is still your best bet. Eventually I would like to implement a tet/FEM approach to hard materials...but that's a long ways away, if ever ![]() |
