Position Raycast operator: Catching rays - TubeSmokeGuy - 07-02-2021

Hi!

I think it would be cool if position raycast operator could have a "catching rays" mode.

This means that no extra raycasting object or icon will be needed anymore. Particles, wherever the are, will be casted directly onto the target surface by using the normals of the target object surface as rays, reaching out into the space. So the particles will be pulled from their current location onto the surface along its surface normal (interpolated realtive to origin particle position). This could reduce setup effort in position raycast operator for some usecases.

I hope I was able to make clear how I mean it.

Thank you and greetings!

Sounds more like a closest-point algorithm, which is already available in the Position Object operator as a mode.
