pool setup - joe_coke - 11-18-2021 Hi, i'm trying to get a pool/snooker setup working better & i am lost in a sea of spinners that might do the magic and correct the behavior of the balls. https://imgur.com/a/JPUASeq I would be expecting the white collilsion to be linear & not (as you can see bottom left with the trajectory spline) kinked and incorrect. Is it the restitution spinner of the balls that needs to be adjusted? Also wtf does the mass value relate to, as i'm trying loads of different settings but again the behavior never seem right. RE: pool setup - d4rk3lf - 11-18-2021 Mass is how energy passes from one particle to another... With PhysX, sometimes you need to make a little extreme numbers to see the result. Example: white ball have a mass of 100, while other balls have a mass of 0,01 That means whole balls would affect (push), much stronger then the other balls will be able to push white (if they are able at all with this values). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2Bn_Tn9JYQ Above video showcases how mass works... Keep in mind, mass has nothing to do with gravity, it's just with how much force particles will push each other. Not sure about your other questions, as it's hard for me to imagine the motion of the balls with just a screenshot. RE: pool setup - joe_coke - 11-18-2021 Hey thanks for the reply, i appreciate it. Don't worry i've given up, i recon i could spend a weekend just putting numbers in spinners and still end up with nothing good. i'm going to keyframe it, it will be quicker, or even fire up crappy old massfx. |
