The direction of the connection between faces.
For example, in your case, the face splitting direction and connection direction are the same. How to change the connection between faces?
Please look at the second picture I sent. The curl of the surface is always vertical. I hope it can be curled horizontally.

The direction is determined by the Move Pivots operator, which sets the pivot to the "furthest point" from a particular scene object. Then once the faces rotate, they rotate around that furthest edge. Adjusting the location of that object will change how the geometry unfolds.
