Path Follow - Pipe Radius - Fraine7 - 04-09-2019 When using the Path Follow operator, it would be great to have something like Phoenix FD's 'Pipe Radius' option to allow users to specify a radius around a path which the particles are allowed to travel within. An example of how this might be used: If I have an emitter with a 1m radius and wanted the particles to travel within a 1m radius but following a path. It could be something like a 'distance from path' option, possibly with independent axis controls for XYZ inputs RE: Path Follow - Pipe Radius - tyFlow - 04-09-2019 So you're saying to constrain particles from the path by a certain distance? RE: Path Follow - Pipe Radius - Fraine7 - 04-09-2019 Kind of, imagine the path having a thickness rather than just being a spline. Attraction values seem allow for this but without any close control over exactly how far away from the path they are allowed to be RE: Path Follow - Pipe Radius - tyFlow - 04-09-2019 You could try adding an object bind, setting method to surface, friction to 0% and limiting the surface offset? Haven't tried it myself with splines but that method would work for meshes and in theory should work for splines too. RE: Path Follow - Pipe Radius - Fraine7 - 04-10-2019 Sounds interesting, I’ll give it a go - thanks Ty |
