Pipe keeping shape after impact deformation. - KaOsphere - 05-20-2022

Hi, I have a simple situation where a pipe is falling to the ground.

I'm using voronoi and tyParticleSkin to make it deform on collision.

Though, I would like it to keep its new shape/bind after initial collision.

What I have now, is the pipe continuously deforming as it rebounds on ground/deflector.

Any hints on solving this problem would be greatly appreciated, I'm pretty sure it's really simple/straightforward but every solution I tried for now have failed miserably.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I guess I found a suitable result, by scaling up damping and spring values along reducing the mass.

If you have any other method, never bad to learn something ! Thanks a lot.

If you're using PhysX bind, there's an option exactly for that.
Under breaking rollout, there's a deforming option that is off by default.

Turn it on, and when the bending happen, it will stay bended, and will not try to get back to initial position.
Very useful for car crash sims, or similar bending metal sims.
