Hey there,
select operator and cull selected is fine, select operator and send out option is also fine as particle moves to another event. But select operator with send out option and not sending out but only saving the true value hides the selected particles. by enabling "always display selection" shows the bright white selected particle which feel little power hungry and too bright for the eyes.
Can particle not hide when we try to save the data instead of sending out....

the particles are not displayed when selected with SELECT operator, when send out option is clicked and in test action rollout - ignore and save to data channel if test it true.
