Deadline 10.3 / 3ds Max 2020.2 / Redshift v3.5.17 - Rendering TyCache - cjwidd - 09-26-2023 *mods, starting a new thread because the following issue is tangential to the original thread We are testing a networked render environment with TyFlow using Deadline and even though TyFlow Render is installed to all the workers, and Deadline is set to Copy ALL external file references to repository, the render output does not include the TySplineMesher object(?) I have installed TyFlow Render and TyFlow (Free) on our worker nodes (see attached). Here is the modifier stack for a TyCache that was exported from our workstation running TyFlow Pro (see attached). I archived the scene, copied the archive to a worker node, unzipped the scene, loaded it, and the TySplineMesher loads and renders just fine, as it does on the original workstation. However, the TySplineMesher object does NOT render at all when submitted through Deadline - I have no idea why this might be happening. How can I verify that Deadline is submitting the entire tycache - is Deadline not able to send the entire tycache (see attached)? Do we need to manually copy the TyCache to a new location for Deadline to render an image sequence with TyCache? RE: Deadline 10.3 / 3ds Max 2020.2 / Redshift v3.5.17 - Rendering TyCache - tyFlow - 09-26-2023 Deadline won't submit the tyCache - you have to either manually copy it yourself, or make sure it's saved to a network-accessible location. Thank you - that was very important information. I will test with a network TyCache location and see how it goes. Why is it that Deadline can pack all the texture files, etc., and send over the network, but it won't pack the whole tyCache, because it would be prohibitively large in size? RE: Deadline 10.3 / 3ds Max 2020.2 / Redshift v3.5.17 - Rendering TyCache - tyFlow - 09-27-2023 I'm not sure to be honest...but my rule of thumb is always make sure every machine can see the native cache path. Avoids any path remapping funny business that Deadline may be doing when bundling everything up. Hmm, I copied the cache files to a network location and Deadline is rendering the TyCache as expected - I am seeing some other errors, but I believe these are related to Redshift licensing and not TyFlow. Thank you! |
