How to apply uv mapped texture to each spline in tySplineMesher - RobH2 - 01-27-2024

I've only found a couple of post about this and am still having trouble getting what I'd like. I've read this post and it helps a little but I'm obviously missing someting.

I have a Position Object and a Target. I'm using tySplineMesher to send particles from my Position to the Target and generating about 100 splines with tySplineMesher. I need each of them to have the texture of a fabric thread, not just a solid color.

When I apply materials to the tySplineMesher it applies like a planar map using the extents of my group of all splines. I need the texture to be applied to "each" spline.

I made a normal Max spline and put a UVW test pattern on it. I need to get each spline to match this reference Max spline.

I attached a view of my setup.

[Edit] I can't seem to get an image to attach. Below is a link to an image of my setup.

As it frequently goes, you spend hours or days trying to figure something out and as soon as you post, you find a solution. I'm going to answer my own post here in case it helps some other newbie like me.

I spent an entire day trying to solve this. Nothing worked. I did other tutorials and it did work, but not in my problematic scene. So I knew my machine and installation was OK. So in frustration, I rebuilt the entire scene which took several hours which I was hoping to avoid.

But, something along the way had gone wrong. After rebuilding, the materials work as expected. As I get more familiar with Tyflow, maybe I'll be able to spot the area where things broke and prevent comlete rebuilds in the future.

tySplineMesher creates UVWs along the length of the spline by default...perhaps those settings were disabled/changed by accident in your initial setup?

Thanks for confirming how UVWs are handled. Yes, something along the way went awry but rebuilding things solved it as I mentioned above. Thank you for the assistance.
