Transferring Normals - moonjam - 04-09-2024 Hey! I have a very simple setup where some camera facing, flat geometry is scattered over an object's surface and I am then using tyConform to transfer the normals of that scattered geometry (as one, unified mesh). This is working perfectly, however as the scene get's more complex it's getting quite unwieldy to manage. So I guess what I'm asking is, is there any way to natively transfer the normals from a scene object to Shapes within a flow? Ideally whilst retaining instancing (however I fully understand that this might be impossible!) Cheers! AJ RE: Transferring Normals - tyFlow - 04-09-2024 Hmm, normals should be transferred automatically if they're assigned. If you've found a case where that's not happening, please send me the file. As for instancing, a condition of instancing is that meshes between instances are identical, so it's not possible to instance the shapes while simultaneously respecting their individual (and presumbly unique) normals. Once two meshes have any topological differences, they cannot be instanced. |
