tySplineMesher extrude direction - usc001 - 03-17-2025 hello, unsure if this is a silly question/impossible: how can i change the extrude direction of tySplineMesher in "extrude" mode? by default, it extrudes upwards but i would like to have it extrude sideways/outwards. i dont seem to get a clean sideways extrusion by changing the normal values in "direction" rollout. common 3ds max ways of changing the (spline) objects orientation (edit pivot only; change xform etc) dont seem to work either. is there an easy way to change the extrude direction? thank you in advance! RE: tySplineMesher extrude direction - tyFlow - 03-17-2025 I'm not sure I understand what the issue is - you can change the extrusion vector to control the direction, yes. RE: tySplineMesher extrude direction - usc001 - 03-17-2025 sorry for the confusion. what i meant by "extrude" sideways is similiar to adding shell modifier. Where it creates a uniform thickness outline. I guess, what i mean is to use the "spline vertex normals" for the direction? Because i understand that "x=1" is not what im after... additionally, the reason i want to do it inside of "tySplineMesher" modifier is, that i could use the "segment" spinner in the modifier to get uniform quads very easily. i hope this makes more sense... RE: tySplineMesher extrude direction - tyFlow - 03-21-2025 Set the extrusion mode to "tube" and set number of tube sides to 2 and you'll get the same result. |
