Create ship wake with tyFlow - Otuama - 10-24-2025

Hi all,

I'm on a job where I need to do a stylised render of a tanker moving along the ocean.

I need to have splash/foam react to the ship..... or some form of realistic reaction.

The shots need to loop so I'm not going to be able to have the ocean surface as Phoenix.  It also needs to be a relatively simple look so what I've done is a noise modifier that I've animated it the motion loops (ping pongs).

Can anyone give me any suggestions how I can tell tyFlow to create splash / foam based on the ship reacting to the noise modified ocean surface?

Someone on facebook suggested Birth Intersection, which works but I'm sooooooooo rusty with tyFlow I don't know where to go from there.

Here's my render

Here's what I need to produce:

I'm also looking at using Phoenix but I'm not sure how that'd work with a noise modified ocean surface.

Any help from you clever people would be great.

Thanks

Yup.
Birth intersection, then you can add object bind so particles stay on water surface, with bit of noise, so they spread a little, and collision with boat.

I am not sure about the foam loop though (unless you do it in post somehow).

Check attachment.
Hope it helps.

Sweeeeeeeeet, that helps a lot and I'll have a look over the weekend.

Thanks
