How do I get the materials working on lots of actors - Ben - 06-17-2019 Hey, Sorry for asking what has already been asked but I'm having an issue with the materials. I can't get them showing up in the render. I've read some other people having similar issues but I didn't understand the answer sorry. I'm using the Actor nodes and obviously the instance material doesn't work with my set up. How do I get it to work, I tried turning the character into a point cacheĀ and making sure the Vray instance was ticked in the mesh node. The only way I can see to get a whole lot of characters materials showing in the render is if I create a new multisub, which I'd prefer to avoid as I'm running out of time. Is there a tutorial or anything on the process of setting up a crowd and how to get the materials rendering? Thanks Ben RE: How do I get the materials working on lots of actors - tyFlow - 06-18-2019 The overall material workflow is a work in progress that needs to be improved. Currently, material overrides do not work on skinned actor meshes. You must designate materials by assigning proper matIDs to the input meshes and then applying the multi material to the flow as a whole. I hope to make this easier in the future. Ah, no probs. I thought I was doing something wrong. I'll do the multisub workflow then. Thanks for the prompt reply as always cheers Ben |
