Yea, Position Transfer could work for something like that. What's the issue you're running into?

Post: RE: Rendertime Displacement for Position Displace ...

tyFlow is only able to read data that texmaps feed to it using Max's regular API. It can't access data that a renderer generates internally (like the special VRay maps), unfortunately.

It's just a lossy VDB storage format...wouldn't really have any application inside tyFlow.

Post: RE: Turbosmooth strange behaviour

That's correct, yes. You need to add a Mesh operator to generate a mesh, otherwise the particles just sit in the GPU in the viewport and can't be modified by modifiers (it's always been this way).

This suggestion isn't as simple or straight forward as it sounds... For many operators, ease-in/ease-out doesn't make sense at a fundamental level. For example, what does ease-in/ease-out do in a V...

Post: RE: how to transfer keyframed animation?

It's not so simple to reference scene keyframes from particles because Max itself is not multithreaded, so particles trying to read scene object keyframes from separate threads will cause Max to crash...

You need a Mesh operator in your flow with render-only off, so that the flow generates a mesh complete with its mapping overrides. Then you'd reference the flow in the tyMesher object to transfer ...

Post: RE: how to transfer keyframed animation?

For direct animation reference like that, you'd want to use a tyActor setup and trigger the animation playback with an Actor Animation operator.
