Deadline tyCaching erroring out
#1
When I try to tyCache through Deadline, it errors out saying a tyFlow pro license is required. I have a tyFlow pro floating license and it works on every machine on my network in GUI mode, but I cannot tyCache through deadline on any machine. Not sure what to do to get this working. I have v1.126 currently installed with max 2024 and deadline 10.3.0.15.

Thanks

Your Deadline machine would need to be configured to acquire a license (similar to how you set that up on your desktop), and you have to make sure a seat is available when you kick off the cache job, for the machine to pick up.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I just submitted a suspended tyCache job through deadline to the same machine I used to submit, closed max, revoked the license through the web interface, cleared revoked client timeouts, and unsuspended the job. Says 1 available seat, but still getting the same license error. I had both tyflow and tyflow render dlls in the max plugins folder.

I removed the render dll, did another test, and no longer get a license error but the job errors with the following messages:

Also, I was constantly refreshing the license server's web interface and it never reported that machine ever obtained a license.

Yes, if you have tyFlow_RENDER installed, the machine won't pick up a license while rendering (you can force it to by launching the job as a workstation job instead of a server/headless job).

That log implies Max crashed...was a minidump generated? Minidump info can be found here: https://docs.tyflow.com/feedback/bugs

Just sent a minidump file to support@tyflow.com. I don't believe the minidump was created from the Deadline tyCache but not sure so wanted to send along just in case.

Thanks
