Slow performance with 2990WX
#1
I recently upgraded to the pro version to get the speed benefits of multi-threading and GPU only to find that in most of my tests the pro version is performing slower than the free one.

I have an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX, and a GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, running 3dsmax 2026, Tyflow v1.130, under Windows 11 Pro.

I understand that these AMD processors need 'Pin threads' switched on to address speed problems, but in my tests this makes no difference.  I've been through many of the example files and nearly always it runs the same or worse than the free version.  I can see in the task manager that the extra cores do get used, often maxing out to 100%, and the GPU is also being utilized when relevant, but no actual speed increase is delivered.

Any ideas?

(Sorry for the late reply - was away for a week).

If you're getting no multi-threading performance increase, then something else is definitely going on. The jump in performance should be considerable in nearly all setups (except those with very few particles or computations where extra cores are not used). Contact support@tyflow.com and I can help you look into this issue further.
