Difference between PhysX operators and regular physics operators?
#1
Hi there,

I'm doing some RnD and was wondering what the difference was with the Physx solvers and the regular physics operators, such as collision, particle physics etc?

What's differences are there under the hood, and in what circumstances would you favour using one over the other?

Thanks

PhysX in tyFlow is dedicated to solving rigidbody simulations. The various Particle Physics-related operators are dedicated to solving 1D constraints between particles (it's functionally equivalent to Houdini's Vellum solver, if you're familiar with that). So PhysX would handle things like debris, whereas Particle Physics would handle things like ropes, wires, etc.
