turning particles into mesh light
#1
Hi,
Can i turn all particles into mesh light so i could later control their brightness in post production (using render elements)? when I make them self illuminating, they effect everything that surrounds them, and I want to have more control with that.
Thank you!

vraymesh light ignores mesh animation, so far as I know, if ajust vrayLightMaterial intensity can't get what you want, may be you can scatter some particle on the mesh, then you can either export particle as object(light copy or instance), or bake them using maxscript(see attachment)

OK thank you. I wanted to know because of the rendering process, I wanted to have control in both quality of animation render and post production.

once you have actual lights in the scene, compositing is no problem, I do hope tyflow can handle light instance natively one day~ but for now , bake into real lights seam to be the solution.
even you don't bake any light, use vray light material , render an extra distance map element(distance to the glowing object)
bake lights .rar is the script used to bake tyflow particles to lights.(for last repply )
lightmask.max is the distance mask element setup, and ligthMask folder.zip is AE project shows how to combine them
