So I've now fixed an issue where tyConforms on top of tySelects stop working if "use vertex selection" is enabled and you save the scene for the first time, but I can't reproduce the other issue.
Also note that in v1.023 a tyConform selection bug was fixed, so make sure you're on that build or newer...
