I guess "Sticky bindings constrain particles to consistent distances from their target surface." as well as "Make parallel to closest point" for velocity would explain the orbiting motion.

And that direction might flip depending on calculation, possibly explaining the wall at 0. Verlet integration (selected alone) doesn't seem to have that problem.


So the Proximity Influence only applies to Friction, then, as the particles assume they are stuck to the surface in any case.
