Can not animate spread operator values

Hi all -

I have a super simple event with

-birth shape (geometry)
-Voroni Fracture
-Mesh
-Spread
-display

I cant animate the spread. In fact, when I hit auto key, changing the spread values does nothing. If I turn off auto key then spread acts as expected (spreading apart the Voroni Fracture pieces).

Am I missing something, or is this a bug?
