Breaking actors parts

First off thanks for the beta.

I've been following the car tut you posted, and have managed to get everything working.

How do I go about splitting or breaking up parts of an actor.

I would like to shatter a windscreen with a rigid body joints or remove a wheel or setup wing mirror to fall off etc.
