I'm not sure I understand the issue.
The CUDA cloth computations are for mesh collisions. OpenCL is for the actual cloth motion itself (and potentially particle collisions, not mesh collisions). They're not the same thing and by enabling the CUDA collision solver the sim will take longer, yes, but the sim will be much more accurate.
