Yes, the default PhysX ground and gravity is an idea borrowed from PFlow. Sometimes it's handy, sometimes...not 
As tim showed, easy to disable.
As for PRO, remember that license migration is pretty easy so no need to wait for your new workstation if you want to start using your license. If you run into transfer issues when you get your new machine (let's say you get rid of your old machine and forget to deactivate first), no problem, just email support@tyflow.com if that happens and I'll get you sorted out. Please feel free to start using your license today!
