I have some experience of using Craft Director Tools for vehicles animation and I tried to make something similar with tyVehicle. I failed. There are some issues I encountered which I don't know how to solve and I would appreciate some help. On attached image is shown simple scene where I have a vehicle and target point for motion. In desired animation vehicle and target point stay first 100 frames, then target point starts to move by trajectory shown on image, and stops at finish point in frame 400. The vehicle should start to follow target point starting from frame 100 and after frame 400, when target point stops vehicle should stop as well. Acceleration and deacceleration of vehicle and its maximum speed should be controlled by the vehicle settings. And there are my issues with tyVehicle:
Setup.
In my vehicle model all parts linked to the parent point helper which lays on the ground level, so I can easily move it along ground surface and replace any vehicle parts without affecting other parts. There are only exceptions for such parts as turret and guns which need to be linked accordingly for animations. Some parts of the vehicle could be hidden. When I make tyVehicle setup there are no problems with the wheels, but for the chassis, I cannot select point helper. That is fine, I could create a proxy mesh for the chassis and link my parent point helper to this proxy chassis mesh. But how do I control which parts of the vehicle would be hidden or not and how do I get access to them during animation, for example open/close doors or hatches, or rotate the turret?
Animation.
- When tyVehicle uses PhysX Vehicle AI to follow spline trajectory or any target object I don't know how to stop vehicle at the end of spline or when it riches the target object. The tyVehicle doesn't stop and continues to move around. In Craft Director Tools when I use Autonomous mode to follow target I still have access to keyboard controls, so I can press a key for Break to stop the vehicle when I need or vehicle will slowdown and stops itself when it riches the target object. How can I do something similar using tyVehicle?
- When tyVehicle is already animated, I need to attach some object to it. How can I do this? Will this affect the animation?
- How can I bake animation of animated tyVehicle?
the issue is that when i reopen the scene after saving and closin max the animation is preserved but the color is shifted to the default brown color that you see when you bring the node into the event the first time, so i have to go into the trackeditor and correct the values of the keys, this happens everitime i open the scene
if i don't use animated colors and i assign a specific color to the layer all works fine and all is preserved well at the reopening of the scene

Hi.

What is the difference between tySpline and tySplineCache?

I am trying to path deform a model to the spline that is created and simulated using tyflow using the Spline paths node and creating a a tySpline object and then path deform to that, works perfectly fine.

Was then thinking to optimize and get better performance in 3ds max, and that i would cache this spline simulation. So i did a Particle Export using tyCache (Spline)
But this new cached version is not able to path deform to.

Is tySplineCache not a true spline?

Thanks

I am having a problem to render tyCache on render farm using Deadline manager. I use 3ds Max 2027.2, tyFlow 2.100, V-Ray 7.40.04. The problem is that 3 computers render tyCache, but 4 computers refuse to render tyCache. On problem computers rendered image has missing tyCache objects. I cannot figure out why some machines do not render tyCache, there is no information in Deadline log reports to get a clue. Is there a way to troubleshoot tyFlow on render nodes? I tried to remotely connect to problem computer, launch 3ds Max, load scene, and render. I can see tyCache objects in rendered image when I render locally.

Update: After I remotely connected to each problem computer, launched 3ds Max 2027 and loaded scene, I was able render this scene via Deadline. I had a fresh 3ds Max 2027 installation, and probably 3ds Max was never launched on these computers before. After I launched locally, some folders were created or something else, what allowed tyFlow work normally for Deadline. So, the problem is solved.

I assume there was a problem to make one huge PNG file. I had to use SAS Planet program to download high resolution satellite image instead.
Hi.
I have two questions

1. I want to try using it as a substitute for phoenixfd, but the speed isn’t being resolved.
Time scale 1 is basically very slow motion.

2. It seems that emitter is not recognizing the shape when using objects.
In the case of phoenixfd, if the emit mode from the source is used as a surface force, the shape is recognized.
1 would like to know if there is such an option in tyflow as well.

I’m attaching the file.
Please fill my shortcomings.

Hi,

I own a TyFlow 2.010 license. Yesterday I tried to open tyDiffusion but I could'nt make it work.
I remember using it and it was working on my old 2024 3ds max a couple years ago.

Now I am on 3ds max 2026.2, Windows 11 Pro 25H2, and nvidia RTX 4080 with 596.49 drivers.

I tried everything I could think of, first of all cheking all models installation ("file already exists" messages on green bar appear), then checking comfyUI running fine in browser (http://127.0.0.1:8188), then manually creating the output folder (in the comfyUI folder inside the tyDiffusion folder)...... I attach screenshots of tyDiffusion server window and 3ds max. All seem to work fine excepted that no image appears in the viewport (and in the output folder).

I searched the forum for help but I couldn't find any clue.
Can you please help solve this issue?

Hey Tyson,

Max2027 and tyFlow 2.010 - the tyFlow text appears in the viewport (top left) , despite no tyflow being present in the scene.
Example:

 tyf.jpg (Size: 30.56 KB / Downloads: 109)

In Max2024 this was not the case, and served as an instant indicator that no tyFlow was present.

Just wondering if that has been added, or a bug?

Thanks,

use : tyflow2.010 / phoenixfd 5.25

If you attach the multifracture node of tyflow and use it as a phoenix source, the position shifts.

When the center pivot is turned off, the position comes back to correct location. But to run simulation, I cannot turn off the center pivot option.

Is there any other way to prevent position shift?

Also, This problem didn't happen when I used version 1.x, but when I'm use tyflow version 2, This error occured.

EDIT After this testing more, we found that it was because Particle Interface was enabled on the tyCache!
This setting seems to completely hide splines in the viewport!

Tested in 3ds Max and 2024 and 2027 and tyFlow 2.010

When we export splines to tyCache nothing is showing up in viewport.

The splines show up in the live tyFlow, but not in any tyCache.
The cache files seems to have data in them, and the tySplineCache modifier gets auto applied as expected... but no splines show up.

Thanks for any help!
