Hi. im still having troubles with the vdb clouds and i have managed to make a simple way to show you my troubles.
I will provide photos with the settings and what i want to achieve..
1. The example scene with the teapot:
Teapot size - 59 , voxel size 1, cellular size 15 - and its pretty great
2. teapot size - 1000 , voxel size 20, cellular size 222 - as you can see the vdb mesh shows a simmiliar result but you can already see a big decline in the "cloud"
3. teapot size - 1000, vozel size 10, cellular size 222(when i decrease it gets too small for my needs) - slightly better resolution of the cloud but the detail almost dissapears.
so, to sum up, i have a big object and when i add deformations with vdb noise or texmap , in order to see those deformations i use bigger voxel size, but this reflects in vray volume grid and it looks bad, so when i decrease the voxel size i lose detail. When i increase the resolution inside the vray volume grid, nothing changes ..
