VDB colour velocity

I couldn't find a thread for this, maybe someone can link as i'm sure it's been asked before.

I'm growing a continuous VDB from particles and have a custom properties setup. so far i can only colour the particles, i can't work out how to map the colour to the VDB?

tyFlow VDB does support color. Just store it in a UVW grid using a VDB Modify operator and render using a Vertex Color texmap. See attached.
