Explosion Tendrils

Hey there,
I am coming from PFlow and was hoping to find a sample file that had some particles that spawned with some trails that I would reverse engineer.  I want to use that as a source in Phoenix but can't really find a good start.  
I have seen some tutorials where people have a first flow, but then the use that as the source of a second flow where they have the spawn by travel and a couple of variations to that.  
I looked through the sample files in the tyflow doco but didn't see what I was after there.

Anyone have a sample file or even a tutorial suggestion and I'll go from there.

It's pretty much the same worfklow as in Particle Flow.
Just add a spawn (by distance), make inheritance 0, connect it with new event, and you will get trails
