memory efficient way to scatter lots of high poly object?

I have a scene of lots of high poly animatied objects all brought into tyflow using actors and non skin deformations this seems to force them to be shown in the viewport. 3ds max and tyflow seem to top out when i add more than 300. and can crash. is there a way to display them as nothing and cache them out. or even use vray proxies with actors?

Deforming actors don't support instancing, so RAM will multiply linearly with the number of actors. If you have animated meshes you'll get lowest RAM usage by importing them into a regular Shape operator.
