Spawning by distance to target then finding a new one

Trying to automate a little space battle in the background of an animation. Having some difficulty in getting the lasers to fire based on distance to the target. I'm basing my method off of the example file of finding targets using Set Target, Find Target, and Vustom Properties. I dont think I can use a Property Test with target distance, at least I havent figured out how, and keep the orignal particle. So I'm using Spawn and then trying an AND filter but doesnt seem to work right either. Some of the lasers fire and then stop after the target is deleted but then dont start up again after the ship particle finds a new target

Ah I finally figured it out....was forgetting to assign my custom property in the distance to target filter...
