Surface test problems

Hi guys, what am I doing wrong with the surface test? checker  works but other maps dont. just trying to learn and understand how tyflow thinks.

Also when creating an animation of a box in the surface test it doesnt work. video attached.

check the rgb values, coz the checker is pure black and white .. while any other map needs to be fine tuned by the value of rgb in the surface test.
