Object to SDF problem (crash)
#1
Hello.

I am adding Object to SDF in Tyflow editor. When I select (pick) the object, 3ds max crashes. Same every time. The problem is same in latest version and previous version.

Is this a general problem? Do you have a solution suggestion?

Could you post the minidump? Info here: https://docs.tyflow.com/feedback/bugs

I had one other user with this issue...and it was related to OpenVDB's new implementation of Intel's latest TBB library. I upgraded to the latest OpenVDB version (9) a while back and it's dependent on a version of TBB that includes some features which cause issues on some systems. I haven't figured out why and am not sure how to fix it....it also seems somewhat rare.

You can revert to tyFlow v1.007 which is the last version before the OpenVDB 9 upgrade to see if you still have the issue....

I just sent an e-mail by adding the 3dsmax_minidump.dmp
There is no problem with version 1007. As you said.
Thank you very much for the quick response.

Thanks, got your email.

The crash is indeed happening in the TBB library. I'll reach out to the TBB/OpenVDB developers and see if they can make sense of it.

Update:
This problem was resolved when I switched from 3ds Max 2019 to 3ds Max 2024.
