Alembic motion blur (TyFlow / Blender)
#1
I exported a sim from TyFlow PRO as an alembic with velocity data included, but the alembic does not render with motion blur in Blender.

IIRC, a couple years ago it was not possible to encode velocity data into the alembic to render with motion blur in Max, so maybe the velocity data is not making it into the alembic and that is why the alembic does not render with motion blur in Blender?

Velocity data is not saved to Alembic, no.

For blender to render Alembic moblur it would need to interpolate the topology between frames. If your topology is changing (vert/face counts changing) that won't be possible.

OK, that makes sense - is there some obvious workaround, like, store into a different format that can host the velocity data, for example, whatever is used to transfer motion data between DCC applications that are not 3ds Max(?)

I'm not super familiar with Blender's implementation of motion blur, tbh.
