terrain + vray mat/tyterrain colour map = runaway memory monster

installed latest tyflow version (1.029) max 2024

steps:

terrain presetflow > canyon

add terrain colour (leave @ default)

add terrain mesh (leave @ default)

assign vray mat with tyterrain colour map in diffuse slot (select tyflow as source)

advance 1 frame

watch ram tick up to maximum then max hangs...the crashes.



anyone confirm this or just me?

I followed your steps but am unable to repro here...no crash or freeze occurs.

Is a minidump generated when it crashes? Can you send it in, if so?

sorry - in the terrain mesh operator "cache all frames"

Ok some further investigating:

The bare minimum for this to occur=

*birth terrain
*terrain mesh

a ty terrain colour map in a material (it doesn't matter what type) linked to a tyflow. The material doesn't have to be assigned to an object, it can sit in the editor.

It seems to me that something is being evaluated every frame and the ram just keeps geting eaten up. Even advancing 1 frame is sluggish.......

***update***
closing the material editor stops this behaviour, so very wierd.
