Why tyspiral moves the mesh?
shouldn't it stay still while the modifier moves on top of the surface?

Hmm...no idea why that's happening. I'll look into it.

Oh, looks like the default falloff curve has the wrong slope. Change so that left side is 0 and right side is 1 and you'll get expected behavior. Will fix in v1.117.

OHhhh I did try all the options there but not flipping the slope!
