Hi.
I'm creating a simulation of long threads of plastic using the cloth bind and am having trouble rendering it.
I was expecting to be able to use the Instance Material node to apply a material as i typically would however it doesn't appear to work, it seems to be resorting to the object colour.
Lots of plastic threads are generated throughout the animation and when each one births i was wanting each on to fade in. To fade them in I was hoping to use a material with a gradient plugged into opacity, custom properties set to particle time, and the mapping node to control the fade, but with the instance material node appearing to have no effect, i can't do this.
I've attached an image which i hope shows how the instance material has the purple material applied, yet the simulation is using the blue object material.
Am i doing something incorrectly?
Thanks,
Andy
