Mesh particles collide at birth
#1
I've come across this problem where some of my birth objects are going into each other right at birth and continue like that throughout the simulation. I've tried changing the collision values, and something like 50 or 100 solves the problem, but then the simulation is wrong, and everything is too far apart.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

There is a fuse operator that will delete any overlapping particles and you can try that.
You didn't mentioned if you are using Particle Physics or PhysX, but either way, in both operator you have option to check that they skip collision if they are overlapping.

If you still have issues, it will be easier to help if we can see some screenshots or preview anim, or max file.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried the fuse operator. It removed some of the overlapping objects, but not all of them. I'm using PhysX and I don't know which option you're referring but there was one option I didn't try, start penetration. I put it on the process all penetration and it solved the problem. thanks!
