Correct way to assign cloth material?
#1
Hello all.

I made a cloth roll simulation that works fine.
However I have material problems.

My goal is to get an image on the front side and solid color on the other side.
How do I achieve this?

When using a plane I can only get one material to work.
If I add shell to the plane i can get 2 materials, but they clip into eachother.
(with no shell that does not happen, I checked using bitmap)
I did try the Material operators with no luck.

What is the correct way to assign different material to front and back of my cloth roll?

Thank you.

(I go on a week vacation today, so may be late on answering)

Nobody knows this?
Is it because I use particle physics?

Will pro version and CUDA solve this?

We all know it, we just wanna create drama tension. Smile

Joke aside.. I opened your file...

All is fine, you just forgot to enable "outer mat ID" and "inner mat ID", in your cloth bind operator, under mesh rollout.
Do it, and everything will work fine.. even mapped with picture.

Btw I had to switch to scanline and quickly create new multisub object mat to test it, because I don't have that plugin you are using (it says missing material).
Probably this info is not important... but just in case I mention it.

Haha, wiseguy Big Grin

Jeebus, I have even been trying the Mat ID settings, but totally ignored I had to tick them off....DOH!
