MTB Tyre Deformation
#1
Hi,

Need help with getting a mountain bike tyre deformation to work, I've got the tyre itself deforming using voronoi fracture and particle bind, but I need the tyre attached to the rim which doesn't deform at all, it must stay solid. So when the collision with the ground happens, the deformation only really happens to the bottom of the tyre thats absorbing all the weight.

A secondary animation I need is some of the knobs being worn and breaking, but remaining attached to the tyre (showing the beginning of wear without actually falling off the tyre), I'm assuming using a similar setup with fracture and binds.

Appreciate any help with this!

Thank you!

Well for the tire you could create some sort of loop system in Tyflow where it would detect if tire is close to the ground, then react to it (squise it), and after it exist ground go back and be a kinematic... but if returns again on ground... again... it squise it... and you need loop for that.
And it's not that simple to solve.

Probably better idea would be just to.. not to use TyFlow Particles... but to use TyFlow (underrated) modifiers.
You can detect wheel with surface with TySelect, you can modify wheel shape with TyPush or Tyconform modifiers (even in combination with morph modifiers)... you can do hell of a lot with just modifiers.

I am not really sure I understand second question.. maybe if you care to share a reference?
