Mapping based on distance to target

Hi there,

I'm trying to generate mapping coordinates based on the distance from a particle to it's Target. 
Im publishing through a Property test the distance to the target per frame and using this variable for the mapping, but even if this value is changing per frame and the the mapping timing is set to continuos the generated mapping seems static.

I guess I'm doing something wrong but can't find it.

I found a nother way to do it through the Property Transfer operator, but I'm still not undestanding why the forst method is not working. The good thing is that now I don't need to set a target so it makes it faster.

It will be great If somebody know How must be done the first method...

Why not use an object or surface test operator? Object for a point and surface if you want to test against a mesh surface. Just set it to save the test values as a float in the "test action tab" and then set your mapping to read that channel.
