what's Time Step?

Hi, 

wondering what's Time Step on the main Modify tag control? adding substep? or something else? 

attach an image with the same set up, by changing the the Time step, the sim looks totally different

Yes timestep and substep is the same thing. 1 it will simulate 1 times per frame, 1/2 two times per frame and so on.

Thanks Mazi710. i understand the subframe. just wondering why it seems like affecting more on the the strength of tearing than the turbulence.
