Keep material IDs through VDB? - SteveDeeGreen - 03-19-2025 Hi, I've been retopologizing a few CAD models recently and found TyFlow's obj2VDB works pretty well as a nuclear option of cleaning up a mesh. I have been using Quad Remesher which has a nice option to guide edge loops by material ID - unfortunately VDB destroys IDs as far as I know? Not sure if having IDs on VDBs would help (or the nature of them being voxels precludes that), but thought it worth a mention Thanks! RE: Keep material IDs through VDB? - tyFlow - 03-21-2025 It's not that it precludes that, but you won't really get the nice clear boundaries that you're expecting. You'd probably be able to roughly approximate the result by using a matID tyConform to the original mesh.
