You can use a flow's retimer settings to adjust its timing. For example, if you simulate frames 0-500 and want the sim to playback frames 250-500 only, you can set a key in the frame retimer at frame 0 to 250, and then frame 250 to 500, and it will only playback those frames. Be sure you set the frame spinner keyframe interpolation to linear so you don't get ease-in/ease-out on your keys (you can right click it and set its keyframe interpolation from the tyFlow menu).
