Velocity woes

Yep, still working on this but I feel like I'm getting close!

I am trying to run a velocity test on particles that are being positioned with Position Transfer. This is not working, I would assume, because the particle movement is being dictated by it's relative position on a static mesh. Is there a workaround for this? I really want to break off chunks of particles based on their velocity.
