TySelect Assign to Vertex Colors Refresh Issues

We've been finding some inconsistent results using the "Assign to Vertex Colors" option in TySelect.  It will often not refresh correctly until you click on the TySelect modifier in the again then back to top of stack.  This happens on certain objects and not others, even in the same scene.  I'm digging into finding some repeatable steps but so far it's been elusive.
